காணாமல் ஆக்கப்பட்ட தமிழ் மக்களுக்கான போராட்டம்
August 12th, 2022 to commomorate their struggle for Justice for the last 2000 days. This time they plan
to invoke the attention of the international community for their involvement and assistance.
They have appealed to Helpwora for our assistance to help them in their struggle.
Helpwora decided to provide some help and we have sent, with the assistance of few Tamil activists,
SL Rs.200,000 for the following purposes.
1- To provide food and beverages for the volunteers participating in the rally.
2- To share the travel expenses for the leaders to go to Geneva to appeal for their support.( funds collected)
3- To provide funeral expenses as and when the elderly mothers embrace death while waiting to see their
loved ones.( The association had appealed for assistance for this purpose as well.)

Our continuous struggle for tracing our brethren going for 5 years, and still
continuing.
We, the relatives of victims of enforced disappearances in the North- East, commenced our struggle for tracing our brethren on 20.02.2017 at the grounds of Kandasamy Temple, Kilinochchi (that is, this same venue). Our struggle continues for the 6th year now. With the conclusion of the final battles, over 20000 became victims of enforced disappearances following their surrender before being taken away for investigations or following they’re being handed over by relatives. Besides this, there were more victims of enforced disappearances within army-controlled areas where they were either abducted in white vans or abducted by armed groups operating with the army. Our struggle to trace them continues despite the passing away of over a hundred parents who took ill longing for their relatives separated from them. This struggle will continue until justice is done or until the last of us is alive. Their deaths have eliminated witnesses to victims made to disappear and evidence too. If this tragedy persists it would be easy for the Singhalese government to close the chapter on victims of enforced disappearances citing lack of evidence.
Sri Lanka government is stating to the international community that a solution would be
found, internally. But we will receive no justice from the Sri Lanka government. Habeas
Corpus applications of some relatives have been pending for years with some cases being finally dropped on the basis that the registration number of the bus in which surrenders were led away was not provided by the applicant. Will not a person fleeing for life in a war situation cry and moan separation from husband or child? Or, will they be looking for a pen and paper? Would they have been in such a state of mind? How the judiciary in Sri Lanka discriminates is clear from this. ( please see below)

அரசியலிலும் மனிதாபிமான சேவையிலும் ஈடுபட்டுள்ளார். இலங்கை பாராளுமன்றத்துக்கு
பதவிகளுக்கும் சுய லாபங்களுக்கும் செல்லும் ஒரு சில அரசியல்வாதிகள் மத்தியில்
தமிழர் பிரச்சனைகளையும் உரிமைகளையும் ஆணித்தரமாக எடுத்துரைக்கும் ஒரு
வல்லுனராக திகழ்கிறார். தமிழர்கள்தான் இலங்கையின் பூர்வீக மக்கள் – சிங்களவர்கள்
வந்தேறு குடிகள் என்பதை ஆதார பூர்வமாக எடுத்துரைத்து தமிழரின் குனிந்த தலையை

To mark an important anniversary, Helpwora donated the following relief assistance.Mothers who lost their loved ones due to enforced disappearance during the war by the Sri Lankan were given following Gifts of money and food.
50 women affected by the war who Rs 5000 and one Saree each with food for the day.
Inmates in the old age home were given food.
Children in four orphanage centers are in need of help in Killinoichi, were given food for the day.We wish that all those who are comfortably living in diaspora countries should think of the needy people in your homelands too, when celebrating important functions in your family. Serving humanity is serving the God.

In Sri Lanka – parliamentary elections were held in August 2020 and in the Tamil areas had more than five political parties contested. Mr. Wigneswaran,one of our patrons, too contested. He appealed to the Diaspora Tamils to help him financially to meet his election expenses. Mothers, widows and children continue to protest in Sri Lanka for the last 1000 days, in search of their loved ones.
In the final days of 2009 war, the surrendered captives were taken in buses and never heard of, until today, their fate.These unfortunate dependents still have hope that they will see their loved ones one day.But recently, Sarath Fonseka, the Army commander in charge of the war,informed that all those who surrendered were shot to death on the orders of then Defense Minister Gotabaya, who is contesting now for the president of Sri Lanka.Government offered, after series of protests both in Sri Lanka and in western countries, Rs.6000. ( per victim ) on the condition that they should stop staging protest meetings.Government further said that they will issue death certificates for all those who surrendered. ??????
